Cathay United Bank ３６６號 Bo-ai 2nd Road Xinshang Village

Place was packed. Security guard said it’s always busy and I’d have to wait at least 1/2 hour. But he was nice enough to recommend me to go to another branch 2 subway stops away. At that time his app showed it only had one person waiting to open an account. I’m at the 2nd one now. This one is less busy but looks like a decent wait.

Quite a long wait but that's expected

I had an appointment to open a securities account at 2 PM, but it wasn't until after 4 PM that it was my turn. After sitting for an hour, it was already 3 PM when they suggested I go to Xinxing Road to open it (huh?). They said opening it at the Zuoying branch would take two weeks. I said it was okay to open it here, but then they changed their minds and said it would take two months. Making an appointment was just for fun. If they didn't want to help me open it, they should have just said they wanted to go through all that trouble.

This was my second time visiting the Cathay United Bank branch to conduct business, and every staff member was so friendly. Unlike another branch on Bo'ai 1st Road, where the staff are all arrogant and condescending – I blacklisted them after my first visit. The staff at this Cathay United Bank branch on Bo'ai 2nd Road are genuinely friendly, and I'm willing to wait even if it takes a long time.

I originally came here to close my futures trading account, but the staff told me I needed to go to Cathay Securities. So I came to the Zhongzheng Road branch, and the staff there showed me I could close the account online. == Couldn't they have just told me I could close the account online?
