Today I went to AB Bank Banani branch. The behavior of the officers was very good. The environment was clean. But in an area like Banani, it would have been better to have a bigger space. Because if many people take any service at the same time, it gets jammed.

Very unsatisfactory service. Among all other branches and banks, this one gives the most tattered and unusable notes while withdrawing cash. Many officers are neither much efficient nor much courteous with customers. If I hadn’t experienced excellent services in the other branches of this bank, I would have considered not banking with them.

Always slow, poor and unprofessional customer service. Of all the banks I have accounts with, this branch of AB Bank is the WORST. The customer service officers take personal phone calls for several minutes when the customer is sitting in front of him, the employees at the counter behave unprofessionally by passing lousy, unprofessional comments between one another and work slowly. There seems to be no effort from the management to improve the customer service experience.

AB Bank (formerly Arab Bangladesh Bank) is a leading private sector bank in Bangladesh. AB Bank was established on 31 December 1981. This was the first joint venture private bank in Bangladesh. On 14 November 2007 Bangladesh bank approved the name change to AB Bank from Arab Bangladesh Bank. A former deputy managing director was charged with embezzling 3.25 billion taka from the bank. In February 2008, AB Bank was fined 100 million taka for violating securities law with excessive marginal loans. The majority of these loans from the merchant banking wing of AB Bank went to bank employees and their relatives.
