United Trust Bank 1 Ropemaker Street London

I've not had any major issues with UTB, but they lowered my interest rate almost immediately after opening a savings account with them. Their online systems are also painfully old fashioned, relying heavily on letters, emails; and worst of all, no phone app. It all has to be done via an outdated desktop PC website.

Do not use this bank. Appalling customer service. I took out a mortgage 2 years ago and was not informed by my broker or UTB that I would be forced to use their solicitors and charged an extra 2K even though I had instructed my own who did all the work. When I complained I was told it was the fault of the broker for not informing me. Now, when I have redeemed the mortgage they have not even sent me a receipt of funds or responded to any of my emails in requesting a closing statement. I have provided all the evidence they have asked for, and they have not emailed me to ask for any further evidence. When I call up they say they are reviewing the evidence and it will take another 48 hours. The personnel are rude and one even said that not to worry, if their process of reviewing evidence of funds took longer, they would charge me another month’s payment next month! What a cheek.
