Clean & safe environment with friendly staff. Having been with Barclays for over 50 years, I'm pleased to say the service has only ever been superb over that time, no matter which branch I've had to visit nor whichever type of contact I've had (phone, snail-mail or email). I am pleased and proud to have been a customer for so long.

My mother attempted to withdraw cash using a Bank of America card (as this is the partner bank for the UK) and despite hearing the cash drawer counting money and having it withdrawn from her account, the £200 never appeared. She was told by the manager that there wasn’t anything they could do to help her and she would have to contact BoA. This was the interior ATM on the right side. If you’re a Bank of America customer, I’d approach with caution. Hopefully her bank can resolve it.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't have high expectations visiting this branch based on existing reviews, but they still managed to disappoint me. I visited this branch to see if I could exchange some old £50 notes. Based on info displayed on the BoE website & Barclays website I should have been able to do this in this branch (I checked before making the journey). However, when I attended, the staff initially did not know if they were able to do this, & after deliberating with each other, decided that I needed to visit the post office to do this. Ideally, I had just wanted to pay these direct into my account, but now extra steps had to be followed. Sadly the Post office was not open, so I needed to seek the help of another bank to make the exchange. The branch appears well presented & welcoming, but I fear this is only superficial.

I would really like to give a Zero score if I can. I had a really frustrating experience with Barclays in Edinburgh. I booked an appointment with Mr Nicholas Sam Lovie on 10th November 2025 at 1:00 pm to open a small business account, when I met him in the branch, he did not know how to help and simply told me to use the app instead. He was unfriendly and unhelpful, leaving me feeling disappointed and unsupported. This is not the way an employee should treat a customer.

Hi, I am applying for UAE visa which require me to have my bank statement get signed and stamped all pages from barclays branch. I live in Edinburgh and the branch here is not doing this service. They redirected me to the post office although I need it to be stamped and signed by the bank not the post office. Please help! Thanks
